Associate Product Manager

Location: Naperville, IL
Reports To: Director, Oil & Lubricants

Summary

The Associate Product Manager supports the development, launch, and lifecycle management of products within the Oils & Lubricants portfolio. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Product Information to ensure product solutions meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. The Associate Product Manager plays a key role in managing day-to-day projects, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring successful execution across the product category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring alignment with timelines, deliverables, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts and lead planning and execution meetings with teams such as Product Information, Product Technology, Creative, Supply Chain, Channel, and Manufacturing.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively drive issue resolution to maintain on time delivery.
  • Assist in developing product requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Research to analyze syndicated data on a monthly basis, generating insights that inform product strategy and category decisions.
  • Work with internal teams to maintain accurate product data and support regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Submit 010 forms and support Master Data Management (MDM) processes, including MAP form submissions for new or updated products.
  • Contribute to product lifecycle management activities, including product launches, updates, changes, and discontinuations.
  • Support Marketing and Creative teams in developing product positioning and promotional materials.
  • Assist in managing product development projects from concept through commercialization, including development of go-to-market strategies.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for leadership and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, marketing, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP or MDM systems preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in lubricants or chemicals industry.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management practices and project management tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
