Compliance Auditor
JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The Compliance Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements across the enterprise. The Compliance Auditor is responsible for conducting independent, objective audits and assessments across the company’s corporate, product, and environmental compliance programs. This role involves conducting audits, identifying risks, recommending corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a strong compliance culture. The Compliance Auditor works closely with the legal team, compliance leaders, business units, and other functional teams to identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and verify remediation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job.
- Plan, execute, and report on compliance audits across manufacturing, distribution, and corporate functions.
- Evaluate operational, environmental, regulatory, health & safety, and trade compliance practices.
- Monitor adherence to federal, state, and international regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT, FRA, and TSCA).
- Review internal controls and procedures related to product labeling, transportation, chemical handling, and international trade.
- Collaborate with site managers and department heads to implement corrective actions and track remediation efforts.
- Maintain audit documentation and prepare detailed reports for senior leadership.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and emerging risks in the automotive and chemical sectors.
- Follows and supports compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.

Experience, Education, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, environmental science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in compliance auditing, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of automotive industry regulations and chemical safety standards is highly preferred.
- Experience with state and federal regulatory frameworks, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), including California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Prop 65).
