Key Account Manager - Northeast

Department: Aftermarket Sales
Location: Memphis, TN
SUMMARY
The Key Account Sales Manager (KAM) role is responsible for managing the overall business relationship with the company’s most important customers. Through the development of strong, credible relationships, the KAM works collaboratively with business owners and operators to understand their needs and objectives and ensures value added support through creative business solutions aligned to achieve their objectives while increasing Company sales & profits. This position will be NE based and responsible for up to $50 million in revenue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Develop and maintain strong professional business relationships based on value, trust, and integrity.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive Key Account Strategic Plan designed to act as a roadmap for collaborative efforts throughout the year.
  • Mitigate competitive threats by ensuring company’s value proposition is translated into unmistaken value in the customer’s eyes.
  • Determine customer needs through a consultative and collaborative approach leveraging value added selling of products & services.
  • Become a subject matter expert on industry trends, competitive offerings and other influences impacting our ability to gain market share through profitable growth.
  • Analyze sales performance, provide creative business solutions, and steward results through a formal Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process.
  • Participate / lead special projects as needed.
  • Consistently demonstrate the highest level of responsiveness and integrity in all dealings with prospects and customers.
  • Experience in and understanding of multi-site operations within the automotive aftermarket sector a plus.
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.
  • Travel will be required up to 25% of the time. Travel regionally via automobile and airline.
  • Manage travel related expenses to optimize costs. Submit expense reports in a timely manner.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

  • Customer and growth orientated
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management, internal and with the customers
  • Adaptability in a fast paced and evolving team
  • A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years proven success in managing Key Accounts through value selling / management.
  • Valid Drivers’ License.
