The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Planning is responsible for the developing and executing the production planning strategy across nine production facilities. The individual in this position will lead a team of associates to plan and schedule the manufacturing of products, including upstream processes, and coordinate work on special projects.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
- Evaluate and continuously improve the production planning process.
- Evaluate current processes and metrics; develop processes and/or metrics to help manufacturing improve service to meet the delivery needs of the company’s customers.
- Prepare and present summaries of manufacturing and performance indices to staff and management.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the organization with a specific focus on sales, marketing, and product development to ensure that manufacturing plans support the sales demand and total revenue plan.
- Encourage a team working environment by building trust and cooperation among team members and review team progress regularly to ensure team and company goals are being met.
- Use independent judgment to assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements. Make sure that team members and co-workers have the information needed to perform their job duties.
- Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company’s mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well. Use independent judgment to ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations, including initiating or recommending rewards and discipline as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Production planning, scheduling or purchasing experience with large distribution or manufacturing preferred.
- Three to five years’ experience leading professional teams
